Adding a Zero Down Payment Treatment Fee
From time to time, you may need to offer a zero dollar down payment. While Gaidge allows you to override the standard minimum, it will only let you go as low as $1. To create a treatment option for a patient with a zero dollar down payment there are two options:
- Change the default minimum down payment for all or specific treatment types.
- Add a new treatment type with a zero down payment. When you use this, you can enter any description on the patient's treatment options screen.
To do either of these, at the top left of the screen click on the Gear icon, then Practice Management, then locate Consult Manager on the left-hand menu.

Changing the default minimum down payment
Enter 0 in the Minimum Down Payment box. This will make zero the minimum for ALL treatment options.
Click Save
Adding a New Treatment
Treatments are setup up for treatment recommendation and case presentation. Add a new treatment or click on the name of an existing one to update it.
Add a new treatment
Select the Treatment Type. Options include Full Braces, Aligner, Phase 1, Phase 2, and Limited Braces/Aligner.
Enter the Treatment Name, for example Braces - No DP, followed by the amount and number of months for at least moderate cases. You can also add mild and complex amounts.
Next enter:
- default monthly fee: 0
- minimum initial fee or use the default
- max payment mos. (allows payment time to exceed treatment time.) - or use the default This is different from the Monthly Payment Options section discussed above - it is the actual maximum rather than the treatment months less a number of months.
- Items included with this treatment - use the practice default or enter new ones
Click Add.
